One in ten people found it necessary

to seek food assistance this year

Of those receiving food assistance in Central Florida:

• 46% are children
• 13% are low-income senior citizens
• 50% of the households have at least one member working full-time

In our community:

• 64% of the people seeking food assistance have household incomes of less than $1,000 a month
• 44% of the households seeking food assistance have at least one family member working full-time
• 28% of the people receiving food from assistance programs are children under the age of 18
• Over 14,000 people must decide between paying the rent or eating every week
• Another 18,000 people must choose between their medical needs and food
