Greater Orlando Food Outreach
Greater Orlando Food Outreach provides immediate food assistance for families in need as well as a long-term food subsidy that closely resembles a grocery store for low-income families, allowing for the use of food stamps. In this program, families are able to purchase food and basic necessities at a subsidized cost extending their income even further. In addition to lessening the cost of food and necessity items; breads, fresh fruits and other items are provided upon availability at little to no cost to the customer. Families are able to select their own food, which allows them to maintain a level of control in the care of their family. The program also acts as a link to registering them for food stamps and other government subsidy programs.

The People’s Clinic provides free medical care to uninsured or underinsured children ages birth to 18 years old. This clinic is the only of its kind in the Central Florida region, open during the day and on nights and weekends to accommodate varying schedules of families that work in low-income jobs with alternating schedules. While the Clinic works to assist patients with acute medical needs, immunizations, developmental screenings and well child visits, the primary goal of this program is to find children a permanent medical home and enroll clients in government subsidy programs such as SCHIP or Medicaid when appropriate.

In addition to these services, this program staffs full-time case managers to provide families with immediate crisis intervention and develop long-term plans for returning to self-sustainability.
