Volunteer Opportunities

Food Center Assistant
Food Center volunteers help to provide thousands of Central Florida Families with nutritious meals by sorting and stocking food in our Food Center. Volunteers who work in the Food Center will be performing some physical labor so volunteers should be in good health, and come dressed in close-toed, comfortable shoes.
Thrift Center Assistant
Thrift Center volunteers will be assisting the Compassion Thrift Store staff in sorting and hanging clothing, as well as organizing new shipments. Thrift store shifts are a minimum of 3 volunteer hours.
Volunteer Project Coordinator
Do you like to lead and organize projects? Volunteer Project coordinators will be given a project such as painting the Compassion Center, cleaning and organizing Food Center shelves, or coordinating other various group projects. Check with Volunteer Coordinator for upcoming available projects.
Clinic Assistant
The first Sunday of every month the Compassion Outreach Center provides free clinics to children in need of medical care. Clinic Assistants will be trained on clinic set-up procedures and day of clinic procedures to assist volunteer Doctors and Nurses. The Clinic Assistant position is great experience for Nursing/Medical students!
Seminar Instructor
We can use your skills to improve the community. Seminar Instructors will be in charge of presenting classes such as first time computer skills, resume building, parenting classes, and financial planning. Volunteer seminar instructors should have professional experience in the seminar they are presenting.
Volunteer Administrative Assistant
Administrative Assistants will be trained in systems such as Service Point that are crucial to the organization of all incoming data related to memberships, Compassion Center clients and volunteer check in.
Access Center Assistant
Access Florida is a State of Florida website where families or individuals in need can apply for Federal Assistance programs such as Food Stamps, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Thrift Center Truck Driver
Volunteer Drivers should be well oriented with the Orange/Seminole County areas, have a valid Drivers License, and own a truck or van that can accommodate large donations of clothing or furniture.
Kid Zone Attendant
Caring patient volunteers are needed to supervise and provide activities for children in the Compassion Center Kid Zone. Kid Zone attendants can produce craft projects, read stories, or other fun activities while their parents are applying for assistance programs.
Compassion Resource Navigator
The Compassion Resource Navigator will be trained in learning the many assistance programs that are available to families in need in Orange County. Compassion Resource Navigators will be assigned to special events and build relationships with families in need by educating them on getting a hand up and a head start. Compassion Resources Navigators will be scheduled a training session and will then be committed to 8 hours of volunteer resource navigation each month!
Computer Counselor
Computer counselors serve as a "tech volunteer." Computer counselors are needed once or twice a week to check Compassion Center computers for viruses, software updates, printing and copy machine maintenance, and various other technical check ups.
Office Assistant
Office Assistants will help staff with projects such as data input, mailing projects and other office skills. Office Assistants should be efficient in Microsoft Office programs.
